"To make my phone sound cool," said sophomore broadcast journalism major, Jacquese Jackson. She has downloaded approximately 40 ring tones, some
were free ring tone, and others that she paid for. The "coolness" factor seems to be a big part of downloading ring tones.
Iman Maynard, a sophomore radio/TV/film major, chooses to download ring tones because she feels that the ones her phone provides are "sometimes out of date. It seems like there is always a phone with better tones than mine."
Maynard downloads the ring tones from her phone and pays 99 cents per song. Maynard she admits that she would pay more. "[If it were] really good, like something no one else has, then maybe I'd pay two dollars."
Sophomore journalism major Michael Arceneaux said he would pay no more than one dollar for a ring tone. He downloads his ring tones from his phone, and said, "The prepaid
and free ring tones annoy me and they're boring."
